| These professionals bring a depth and breath of knowledge rarely available to address today's problems. A team addresses all problems assigned to HBA.
Dr. Ashraf Elsayed adds to the company’s versatility and international background. Before earning his graduate degrees, he has had several years of experience in the field of highway construction and materials testing. His graduate studies have resulted in the development of new pavement design methods based on non-destructive testing techniques at the State of Alabama. He has several years of experience in the field of geotechnical engineering and materials testing. Before joining HBA, Dr. Elsayed directed geotechnical investigations for several dams, ports, and power generation projects in North Africa and the Middle East.
Joseph Keithley, former chief engineer for the Memphis District U.S. Corps of Engineers (retired June 1997) has knowledge associated with design, construction and maintenance of waterways. Perhaps even more importantly, he is one of the country's leading authorities on large landslides and their stabilization.
John Blake retired from the U.S. Corps of Engineers in 1996 as chief of construction for NATO in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. Prior to that he constructed facilities in Korea, Kwajalein, and the USA. His adaptability of construction methods is little short of legendary, and he brings a repertoire of knowledge unequaled in the construction field today.
HBA has a complete geotechnical/quality control laboratory with trained technicians, drilling capability on land, rail, and over water, a trained staff of quality control technicians and a construction division that handles unique problems. HBA also has a working arrangement with a full service chemical testing laboratory and with more traditional engineering firms to provide surveying, drafting, and other engineering related services when the project demands it. HBA has a long, successful record of using other drilling firms when the location extends beyond the normal range of our truck-mounted drilling equipment in the USA and in foreign countries.
